<div>On November 6, 2024, after his shift, Senior Correctional Police Officer Joel Hernandez was traveling home on his motorcycle on the Garden State parkway when he collided with a deer, sustaining severe injuries. As a result, Ofc Hernandez suffered from internal bleeding and several broken bones. He's had to endure several surgeries and is still in critical condition. Although at this time his prognosis is positive, he will have to remain hospitalized for at least 3 months and has a long road to recovery ahead.
