Help Oakey

Hi my name is Diane and I am fundraising for my friend Jessica’s dog “Oakey.

here is their story in Jessica’s words

 

February 24

 

Thursday evening Oakey was attacked by a cougar on our regular after work hike we’ve done 100 times.. the cougar was attempting to take him up a tree, my friend and I ran at it screaming at the top of our lungs and he dropped Oakey. We’ve been in hospitals the last two days but we were able to come home late tonight for the weekend. Next week he has surgery to remove left eye as the tooth or claw went straight through his retina. He has three skull fractures one with a bone fragment pushing on his brain. The surgery to remove the fragment is being discussed and it is high risk.

 

Please send healing energy to Oakey ✨✨ He has been the most bravest boy throughout this entire nightmare… much calmer & tougher than than me

 

Jessica was half an hour from her car and ran with Oakey  all the way back. As she was in a small town there was no vet close by. The emergency vet in another city drove to meet her but it was still a 3.5 hour drive.

 

I am sure you can imagine that along with the stress and anxiety Jessica is faced with massive vet bills so far totalling over $13,000.00 

Oakey is such a sweet little guy and is only 1.5 years old.
