<div>Ik ben pas 17 maar ik heb op jonge leeftijd al veel te maken gehad met geweld, pesten en ook een instabiele situatie thuis omdat één van mijn ouders (mentale) gezondheidsklachten heeft.

<div>Sinds dat ik nog maar 10 jaar oud was ging het steeds slechter met mijn mentale gezondheid door deze omstandigheden. Emotionele dysregulatie en trauma door het geweld dat ik heb meegemaakt zijn daar een uiting van. Autisme maakt dat het mij extra veel moeite kost om hiermee om te

<div>Hierdoor kan ik niet meer naar school en niet meer naar buiten. Mijn hulphond DJ was mijn redding. Met DJ kon ik veel meer ondernemen, was minder angstig en ik kon weer naar school. Dat was heel fijn, gewoon een gevoel van erbij horen ervaren en een deel van de normale dingen doen die bij mijn leeftijd horen.

<div>DJ moest helaas met pensioen. Daardoor heb ik nu geen hulphond meer en zit ik weer thuis. Psychosociale hulphonden worden helaas niet altijd vergoed en daarom ben ik deze crowdfunding gestart.

<div>Het opleidingstraject voor een psychosociale hulphond – inclusief selectie(pup), training en certificering – kost €11.000. Dit bedrag kan ik niet zelf betalen. Elke donatie, groot of klein, brengt mij dichter bij de steun die ik zo hard nodig heb. Het delen van deze actie helpt net zo goed als een donatie.

<div>I am only 17 years old, but at a young age I have already experienced a lot of violence, bullying, and an unstable home situation because one of my parents struggles with (mental) health issues.
</div>

</div>
<div>Since I was just 10 years old, my mental health has steadily declined due to these circumstances. Emotional dysregulation and trauma caused by the violence I experienced are a result of this. Autism makes it even more difficult for me to cope with these challenges.
</div>
<div>This mainly shows in the following symptoms:
</div>
<div>• Panic attacks
</div>
<div>• Flashbacks of traumatic experiences
</div>
<div>• Social anxiety disorder
</div>
<div>• Becoming overstimulated very quickly
</div>

<div>Because of this, I am no longer able to attend school or go outside. My service dog DJ was my lifeline. With DJ, I was able to do much more, felt less anxious, and could return to school. That meant so much to me — simply feeling like I belonged again and being able to experience some of the normal things that come with my age.

<div>Unfortunately, DJ had to retire. As a result, I no longer have a service dog and I am back at home again. Psychosocial service dogs are unfortunately not always covered by insurance, which is why I started this crowdfunding campaign.
