<div>My name is <strong>Gemma Ayuban</strong>. I am 53 years old and have proudly worked as a nurse for over 30 years. Over the last few years, my life has changed dramatically.

<div>After going through a difficult divorce that was finalized in the summer of 2025, I was forced to leave my home. I started over in a small apartment, trying to rebuild my life one step at a time.
</div>

<div>In December 2025 while at work, I experienced a serious and unexpected health condition that required emergency brain surgery to remove a tumor that had gone undetected for years.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>The surgery saved my life, but recovery has been long and difficult. I have to complete a long and intensive neuro rehabilitation program, learning how to return to my normal routine, care for myself independently, and hopefully continue doing my passion as a nurse.
</div>

</div>
<div>I have already exhausted all my sick leave and vacation time. Although my employer has been doing everything they can to accommodate me, I am currently unable to work due to worsening cognitive impairment after surgery. However, I still need to cover my rent, utilities, groceries, medical expenses, and other basic living costs.
</div>

</div>
<div>My friends and remaining family members have helped as much as they can, but those resources are becoming limited. I never imagined I would be in a position where I would need to ask for help, especially after spending my life caring for others.
</div>

<div>Today, <strong>I am humbly asking for support so I can continue healing without the constant fear of losing my home or falling behind on necessities.</strong> <strong>Any donation, no matter the amount, will help me pay for:</strong> a) Rent and utilities, b) Food and daily living expenses, c) Medical and rehabilitation costs, d) Transportation to appointments and work.
