Nori is a six-week-old kitten who came into my life just a month ago when I found him on my front porch. He was in rough shape—he had a broken leg, a hernia, and was covered in flea dirt. At first, Nori was terrified and would swipe at anyone who tried to get close. Over the past few weeks, he’s slowly come out of his shell, playing with my other cats and exploring my home like he’s always belonged. He’s still wary of people approaching him, but he can’t resist the sound of a can opening or the promise of a Churu treat. Despite his tough start, he’s become a sweet, cuddly companion who loves to snuggle after his little hissing fits.
Yesterday, Nori suddenly stopped eating and drinking, developed a high fever, and became very lethargic. I rushed him to the vet, where X-rays revealed a mass near his heart. After consulting with a radiologist, we learned that Nori has a peritoneal pericardial diaphragmatic hernia—a serious condition that requires urgent surgery. The vet explained that if we don’t act quickly, Nori could suffer organ damage or even organ failure. He’s home with me now, but his next appointment is coming up fast, and I’m doing everything I can to get him the care he needs.
I’m raising funds to cover Nori’s surgery, his hospital stay, and the aftercare he’ll need to recover. Every donation will help give this little fighter a chance at a healthy, happy life. Thank you for supporting Nori and helping him heal.
