My name is Brittany, and this is a GoFundMe on behalf of the Fuss family. Nina is currently in the ICU at Shands UF fighting really hard. She has numerous chronic, debilitating medical conditions. Some of these conditions required an implanted chest port for IV hydration at home. Unfortunately, a major risk of these life-saving devices is infection. Unfortunately, with her autoimmunity and very poor immune system, she developed an infection in her port, which led to septic shock, septic embolism in the lungs, and mitral valve endocarditis. What this means is that the port is a direct line to her heart and blood system, so she is now battling a systemic infection.

Her mom, Amber, is her person, and they need to be with each other as much as possible in the following weeks. Anything you can spare will go directly to mom for gas, food, coffee, and a little extra cushion for missed shifts at work. Also it would be nice to get Nina comfort items since this hospitalization could last up to 12 weeks.
