Help Nimra Study Abroad in Amsterdam!

Donation protected
Hi! I’m Nimra. I’m a junior at Wesleyan University double majoring in government and environmental science. I’ve always wanted to study abroad and I’ve finally gotten the opportunity to do so!

I’ll be in Amsterdam, Netherlands this spring studying international relations. However, my study abroad program doesn’t provide food or travel opportunities. I’ll be there from January to June and will be unable to work while abroad.

As a first-gen low-income student of color, I haven’t had much opportunity to visit another country without facing financial adversities. I work 2 part-time jobs on campus and most of the money I earned, I used to help my parents pay bills because of the severe financial impacts of COVID-19.

I also run my own business, a sustainable fashion brand (infinitelyco.com), I’m the President of the POC Pre-law Society on campus and the Vice President of the John Quincy Adams Society Wesleyan Chapter.

Managing school, 2 jobs, a business, and 2 extracurricular activities have been incredibly rewarding. I hope for this trip to Amsterdam to be a new and exciting experience where I can continue to make an impact in the community and on campus. I hope to go abroad and pick up new hobbies and activities without constantly being worried about my finances.

My Wesleyan scholarships cover the tuition, housing, flights, and medical insurance but food and travel are something I have to budget for. The money raised would be used to buy food for my time there and for tourism experiences.

Thank you so much for considering donating to me, I’m incredibly grateful for everything!!!
