<div>On September 20th, our dear friend, faithful union member, and brother in electricity, <strong>Nils Carlstedt</strong>, suffered an intense medical emergency which nearly ended his life.

<div>An aneurysm in his aorta that required a valve replacement, and a tear in the aortic wall which was also replaced, has left Nils in extreme pain with a long road to recovery. TAA rupture has a mortality of 97%, so he is extremely lucky to be alive. The good news is he is in good spirits and home with his wife and three beautiful children.

<div><strong>Nils is the primary source of income, and the delicate nature of the recovery process has his spouse, Jackie, to care for their children, ages 6, 4, and 9 months, unable to supplement work.</strong>

<div>Winter will come fast and hard, and the recovery plan to return to work is unclear; due to the physical nature of work as a commercial electrician, the timetable is potentially extended.
