Two years ago a kind stranger alerted me that my father in Hungary was in a dire health situation and needed immediate intervention. Due to the selfless act of this stranger, today my father lives in an assisted living facility, receiving the medical care he needs to maintain quality of life. My father might have not survived, had it not been for this kind stranger’s caring alert.
Today, it is this kind stranger who needs support. Her daughter, Niki is 3 years old and has been suffering from various health conditions from the age of 18 months. Niki lives in Hungary with her Mom and sister, while her Dad works in Germany trying to make ends meet and to use any remaining funds to find out what causes Niki’s ailments. Niki suffers from chronic inflammation of the hip joints, and during flairups she suffers from unbearable bouts of pain. She also has delays in her speech and communication skills. Doctors have not been able to diagnose her illness, but have been suspecting she might have some type of autoimmune disease. Specialized blood tests have been ordered by specialists to confirm any particular illness, but they would need to be paid for out of pocket as medical insurance does not cover these tests. Niki also takes various vitamins that cost hundreds of dollars. These vitamins help manage her symptoms a bit, but are not answers to treat the underlying issues.
