I recently graduated from the American University in Cairo with a degree in Political Science after a long battle with the financial aid office. My parents, who worked an average of 3 jobs each at the time, barely scraped by the funds to support my undergraduate journey (even though I had financial aid+merit scholarship). They are both retired now, and I would like to be able to pay them back by reaching the goals they envision for me, as well as the ones I envision for myself. I am eternally thankful to them, and I know that they would be immensely proud of me should I acquire my master's degree. In fact, I would be the first member of my family who has a master's degree, as I was the first to ever pursue a degree in humanities. I am currently working 2 part-time and precarious jobs, however I am making barely enough to get by comfortably, let alone save. I would really appreciate it if you'd help me with anything you can, I would be eternally grateful.
I recently got accepted to the Socio-ecological Economics and Policy programme (or SEEP) at WU Austria. Living in Egypt, I get to witness the effects of the climate catastrophe firsthand. Alexandria, a city in which I hold most of my childhood memories, is projected to be completely submerged in water during my lifetime. Applying to this master's programme is more than just a degree for me, it's part of my dedication to the global effort organising around the future of our planet. This programme has the tuition at €726 for non-EU students + a €20 student union fee. I am asking to raise the funds for my first two semesters, so a total of €1500.
