Help Nicole Candiff Beat Her Lymphoma Relapse

“Life is too short to get bogged down and be discouraged. You have to keep moving. You have to keep going. Put one foot in front of the other, smile and just keep on rolling.” - Kobe Bryant

It pains me to have to share this news with you all today. Our daughter, sister, friend, and literal angel among us, Nicole Candiff, was recently diagnosed with a Hodgkin’s Lymphoma relapse. As we all witnessed firsthand last year, Nicole is the single most badass woman we know. Even during her darkest moments, she emanated positivity and light, inviting everyone around her to share in her joy and her love. She has an unparalleled faith in God and in herself that carried her through her diagnosis and chemotherapy confidently and gracefully. Nicole was fortunate enough to seek the best possible treatment in battling (and beating!) Hodgkin’s Lymphoma last year, and that would not have been possible without the GoFundMe created by Lulu Pantin. We will never be able to thank you all enough for that.

Nicole undoubtedly can, and will, crush this vicious disease once and for all, but in order to do that, we will need a little help. As of right now, Nicole will be pursuing a two-part treatment plan  that is expected to be more expensive and will take a greater toll on her body. Phase 1 of her treatment is called IGEV chemotherapy; this treatment can only be administered in the hospital, so Nicole will need to be admitted for at least 3 days each time. The overall duration of Phase 1 will be dependent on her reaction. Phase 2 of her treatment plan is a Stem Cell Transplant into her bone marrow; this process is quite extensive, and Nicole will need to be admitted to the hospital for its duration. This new treatment plan obviously requires significantly more time in the hospital than her previous treatment, so we are expecting a significant increase in her medical expenses. Being the selfless soul that she is, Nicole was uncomfortable with the idea of another fundraiser, especially after the extremely generous response we received last year. However, Nicole will be unable to work for the duration of her treatment, so the financial burden of beating this disease still looms heavily.

We have set up this page to support Nicole’s recovery and to help her manage the financial burden of this new battle. While we are saddened to be calling on our support system for help again so soon, we are comforted by the fact that supporting Nicole in this way can lessen the feeling of helplessness that accompanies this horrible news. We will continue to update you all through this page and through social media. We love you all and remain grateful what we know to be true: our faith in God, our faith in Nicole, and our faith in each other. Thank you all so much for your thoughts and prayers and anything you can contribute. With God all things are possible.
