Help Nicko feel Peachey again !!

 Nicko (aged 14 years) was diagnosed with Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease (CMT) almost 3 years ago. CMT is a disease which attacks the central nervous system and effects the nerves of the hands, legs and feet.  Recently, a  simple walk down a garden path saw Nicko fall and break his hip. This will mean Nicko will spend at least the next 18 months in a wheel chair if all goes well. Nicko requires eight weekly injections at Westmead Hospital due to complications. Nicko also faces the possibility of surgery on his shoulder due to being diagnosed with having a tumour in the bone two months ago.  Due to the tumor the bone is so fragile that it could break with the slightest of movements. If this happens Nicko will not be able to push himself in his chair, take care of his basic needs and will require constant care. Anyone who knows Nicko will tell you what an inspirational young person he is. His sporting ability was second to none, he has a heart of gold and remains positive in the face of adversity. His life and that of his family has dramatically changed, he can no longer play cricket, AFL, Karate, ten pin bowling, golf to name a few. The visit’s to Sydney for treatment are ongoing and costly. Nicko’s parents have had to take out personal loans and re-mortgage the the family home to cover travel expenses, accommodation, time off work  and  the purchase of an electric scooter.  The purpose of this campaign is to alleviate the financial strain on the family, also Nicko is a keen fisherman and his dream is to go on a holiday to experience some coastal fishing in accommodation suitable for a person with disabilities. Any funds left over will be donated back to CMT Australia.
