Help Nicki Mikolai with Medical Expenses

I’m writing this to ask for your help in raising funds to help our friend, Nicki Mikolai, get through a very challenging situation around medical bills.
We’ve all been there. In a difficult time of life where you don’t want to ask for help but are in desperate need. Trying so hard to help yourself; working harder, working longer, taking on extra jobs but know you cannot possibly get ahead fast enough due to mounting medical bills and life’s pressures. You want to show your kids that by working harder and digging deeper, you can get through tough times. All while trying so hard to stay positive, stay healthy and not fall into a state of helplessness or depression.
This is the position Nicki Mikolai is currently in. She’s getting hit with medical bills in two different situations. Money is tight, desperately tight. Nicki was seriously ill in May, in and out of doctors offices and emergency rooms, and those bills have stacked up. Also, this summer, her beautiful daughter Avery needed open heart surgery and spent 2 weeks in ICU due to complications and recovery. Those bills are also rolling in. Avery is on her father's insurance so Nicki is trying to cover her portion of Avery’s maximum out of pocket on that insurance policy while also covering the max out of pocket on her own insurance. Simply put, the medical bills are $7K - this is more than she can afford.
Nicki is a single parent working hard to show her kids that hard work pays off. That making good choices pays off. That even though the road to success is often riddled with speed bumps and road blocks, it’s important to stay the course to honor herself and her kids. She’s moved homes so her kids could be closer to their friends and schools. She’s also changed jobs from one that was mentally not suitable for her any longer to one that has the potential to allow Nicki to best utilized her skills and the financial potential to set her free. She’s working hard to make ends meet but at this point is falling short.
What I’m praying for is that we can rally together to help her with the $7K medical expenses. This will begin to help get her head somewhat above water and the strength to push forward. It’ll give her some breathing room to continue to be a great role model to her kids. It’ll allow her to sleep better at night knowing things are going to be OK. That there’s a light at the end of the tunnel.
We’d appreciate donations of any amount. Even $1.00 will show Nicki that people care. That people want to help. That people believe in her. The Nicki I know will someday, when she’s back on her feet, repay us by paying it forward in ways we don’t yet understand. I look forward to that day. It will be a beautiful full circle moment for her.
