Help Nick eat again

Nick - cancer survivor - This will be the second Christmas without eating for Nick. He has been tube feeding for 2 years now because his throat is closed and he can not even swallow his own saliva. He goes everywhere with a paper cup which often people mistake for a coffee cup, we call it the "spit cup".
At the moment, from all the money raised, we still have 273 Dollars available, our current goal is to raise 1200 Dollars for upcoming tests and doctor consultations so he can avoid loosing any more weight and hopefully figure out the digestive issues he is suffering from.
Nick continues to be an incredible patient who inspires everyone around him with patience and humility. He struggles with being underweight, fatigued and not absorbing the tube food properly.
A lot of the necessary treatments and doctor consultations are NOT covered by health insurance. Current intravenous injections provide him on a weekly basis with life sustaining vitamins and supplements.
How can a patient who has been through so much hardly ever be grumpy ? I don´t know! He even makes me - his wife- laugh when all I want to do is cry and feel sorry for myself.
Over the past 10 years he´s had over 100 dilation surgeries to re-open his throat. Two years ago he almost died of aspiration pneumonia and an overtreatment with antibiotics.
Nick used to cook for me and our friends in my apartment in Berlin. The fact that he can no longer enjoy a meal breaks my heart every day. It is still our biggest dream that we can eat a meal together again, or just sit leisury in a Café and have a coffee… Nick and I are yearning for a somewhat normal life with family meals, exercise, travel, work.
With your help we are even more committed to making this dream come true and will be forever grateful to each and every one of you, you are making a real difference!
Once the digestive issues can be solved and he gains enough weight to become stronger the doctors will be able to reopen his throat so he can eat, this is our current ultimate goal!
