Help Nick Casertino Replace Home Lost in Fire
Donation protected
On the afternoon of October 16, 2020, while my retired father was working some odd jobs to get a bit of extra Christmas money, a devastating fire tore through his home after his furnace had a catastrophic mechanical failure. Both of his cats were lost in the blaze, and his dog was badly burned and required intensive medical treatment. My father was essentially left with the clothes on his back and the money in his pocket. Unfortunately, insurance companies refused to insure his trailer as it was built in the 60s, so the cost of replacing everything falls on him as well as friends and family.
The owner of the trailer park has made an very generous offer for another, far newer trailer that can be insured but that has been abandoned for some time. The structure is sound but to make the space livable, it needs around $6,000 worth of work. We've also had to remove the trailer lost in the fire, which cost $4,000.
We're asking for help raising the funds to cover the removal of the old trailer and the renovation of the new trailer so my father can start rebuilding his life. If we happen to raise more than the amount requested, anything extra will be used to help replace everything lost in the fire.
