Help NHVR's Sophie with IMHA

Please help recent NHVR Sophie and her family with treatment for IMHA! READ ON FOR HER STORY
Sophie is a sweet and loveable 2 year old Vizsla who was placed by New Hope Vizsla Rescue in a new home over the Summer of 2018 with a wonderful family and big sis Vizsla mix. Her parents, Jennifer and Steen Jensen, have adopted several Vizslas and Sophie was thriving UNTIL SEPTEMBER 10, 2018! Sophie was lethargic, had pale gums, and would not eat. They were sent to an emergency specialty vet when their vet suspected a serious issue. Sophie was transferred to Valley Central Vet in Whitehall, PA and diagnosed with IMHA Immune Mediated Hemolytic Anemia, an often fatal disorder. Basically, Sophie's  immune system was attacking her own red blood cells, consuming them and causing life threatening anemia.
Here is a great overview of this terrible disease:http://scvsec.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/04/Immune-Mediated-Hemolytic-Anemia-Canine.pdf

Sophie had a 50-50 chance of survival during this critical period. The vet offered euthanasia, but Sophie's Mom and Dad were NOT letting her go after just welcoming her to her forever home!  They took the chance and decided to go all in for any chance of saving Sophie. Thankfully, after 9 days in the emergency hospital, 4 blood transfusions, and treatment with expensive medications, Sophie is responding!!!!! She is finally eating and is now recovering as an outpatient at home.
Unfortunately, Sophie's family is now $15,000 in debt after this first round of treatment.  Her initial monthly medication is $770 a month, but dogs with IMHA can live a long life if they survive initial incident. The treatment could be reduced in the future if Sophie responds well, to about $250 a month for maintenance meds, but these are her costs now. She will also need frequent bloodwork and rechecks. Sophie's new mom and dad have no more credit to extend.

These are not Sophie's first medical bills since adoption. She was caught up on lapsed care and spayed since being adopted, at the expense of her adopters. PLEASE, can you help Sophie and her family?
If you prefer to make a tax- deductible donation you can make a donation to NHVR by check or email and earmark it for Sophie via our website at https://newhopevizslarescue.com/donate/

Do we normally raise funds for adopted dogs? No, but desperate times call for desperate measures and we are doing it because the need is great. Sophie is also newly adopted. No one could expect bills like these with a young, seemingly healthy dog.  Please help.
Paws and thanks, Debra Evalds, Sophie's parents Jennifer and Steen, Sophie, and our NHVR family
