Help Nevinne on her path to become a Nurse
Hello everyone, I’m Nevinne Blake. A hardworking and passionate person. I’m very driven towards becoming a doctor or a nurse and I’ve a steady source of motivation that encourages me to achieve a profession in this aspect of the medical field, and to do my best in so attaining. Growing up I’ve seen a lot of family members die, even my father and without anyone having any medical knowledge, they couldn’t have been any help to the person passing away. I’ve also heard the story about my grandfather and how he couldn’t get any transportation to the hospital and he had to stay home and pass away slowly with no one knowing what to do . That has been the unfortunate reality for many persons and I yearn for them to be/ /get the help they need in saving their loved ones' lives. It was the moment my father took his last breath of air, that I solidified my decision to become a doctor or a nurse. I'm aware of the cost to become a medical doctor and it is expensive but that hasn’t stopped me and will not stop me. My plan is to start as a nurse then become a doctor. As stated before, my motivation has always been my experience and the things I've seen firsthand.Instead of watching these things happen, I want to be that person that is willing to be the change and make a difference. The ability and knowledge that I can be of assistance to the sick keeps me going. In high school I can remember quite vividly, during careers' day, how crowded my thoughts were on the matter of helping others. I kept thinking, “How can I help others? What do the homeless and the weak need? How can I be there for families who have a sick member and lack the assistance they need?”I thought carefully before I chose my career path. Though I knew it would have been a bit difficult to be a doctor or a nurse, I told myself I’ll get the necessary qualifications needed because I must accomplish my dream, not for myself but for those persons who will need that profession. I acquired 9 CSEC subjects with 8 being distinctions and one being a grade 2 or a credit. That same year in 2018 I was apart of the merit list for CXC for Human and Social Biology . Then I moved on to Sixth Form and sat ten(10) CAPE units acquiring 7 distinctions, 2 credits and a passing grade. It was during the corona virus pandemic, that my interest in the medical profession peaked even more. I’m even more now convinced that the medical care for the world is a vitality. However, my mother being unemployed leaves us financially unstable and I ,because of this reason, cannot fund my tuition fee. Though I plan to acquire a student loan, it too will also be insufficient. So I’ve decided to start this go fund me account knowing it will also help me. After finishing my studies I plan on helping others to achieve their dreams by sharing my story and assisting with their funds. Additionally I plan to carry out my 12 years old dream of providing homes for the homeless, food for the poor and needy, spreading hope to the hopeless and ensuring an increase in love to all (especially for the persons that are suicidal). I want to be a voice for the voiceless . My entire life from a young age has always been about helping others and to give them opportunities I didn’t have. My mantra has always been
“Strive not just for yourself but for others, Always be selfless”. Despite being unable to fund my way through University, I am not going to give up because I’m even more motivated than before for my dreams to become my reality.
