Nesma Ahmed is raising funds to help her family evacuate from Gaza. Currently, Gaza has been under siege and many families seek evacuation.

Hello everyone, I am Nesma, a distinguished student in the final year at the Faculty of Information Technology at the Islamic University of Gaza.

I am very happy to be on the verge of graduation from university and achieving what I have been aspiring for throughout my academic career. From graduating, reaping the fruits of my studies, working, and settling down, my family of 12 members, along with our cat Lucy and our cute bird koko, we lived a peaceful and beautiful life. We celebrated our small achievements, each of us striving hard to achieve our dreams. My parents worked tirelessly to raise us. We had a house in Gaza City, in the Al-Remal neighborhood, the most upscale and vibrant neighborhood in the city. Our house was beautiful and spacious, filled with security, peace, and many beautiful memories inside and in its beautiful garden filled with many trees.

Recently, we were celebrating my sister Shahd's achievement of obtaining an excellent grade in her first year at the Faculty of Pharmacy after studying hard and earning the first rank in her class at Al-Azhar University deservedly. We were filled with pride in her accomplishment. We were also preparing ourselves to celebrate the future doctor, my sister Farah, whom we hoped would achieve a high score in the high school diploma enabling her to join medical school. Our life was almost perfect, materially and emotionally; we didn't feel any shortage or deprivation of anything.

My twin brothers, Mohammed and Ahmed, were the most beautiful gifts from God to us after being deprived of brothers for 16 years. They were athletes, each with a different personality; one excelled in swimming, and the other mastered computer games and programming despite their young age. And we had the two little ones, Abdullah and the butterfly Taline, yes, she's the butterfly of the house and its apple. We also had the most beautiful grandchildren, Omar and Noor, mischievous but cheerful and beloved.

Our family was large, warm, loving, and cohesive. But on October 7th, tragedy struck, shattering our lives in moments. We entered a terrible reality, subjected to a harsh siege where we suffered from various types of physical and psychological exhaustion and starvation. What exacerbated the situation was my brother Mohammed's injury while we were trapped in our house in Gaza, and our attempts to stop his bleeding during continuous 6 hours where his screams mixed with pain and exhaustion did not stop. The drones besieged and killed anyone leaving their homes, and tanks surrounded the entire neighborhood from all sides, with intense airstrikes filling the house with shrapnel due to the bombing of nearby houses, causing us to lose the ability to see anything and difficulty breathing. The night was long, exhausting, filled with the smell of bombing, the light of rockets, and phosphorus bombs falling on us like rain, causing our garden's trees and everything it fell on to burn. What made the situation worse was the bombing of our neighbor's house, destroying half of our house while we were suffering from terror, physical and psychological exhaustion. My sister, the doctor Shahd, worked hard to stop my brother's bleeding despite the severity and difficulty of the night; her terrified and fearful looks were harder to bear than anyone can imagine. The screams and terror of the children were difficult for any human to bear; the sight of my little sister Taline and her fear broke my heart, looking into her eyes and seeing this fear and breakage in the eyes of a little girl who did nothing wrong was very painful.

The occupation did not stop there but also starved us and deprived us of water, which eventually led us to grind animal feed and try to make bread from it to alleviate the hunger of the children who suffered from severe malnutrition and dehydration. The suffering and tragedy were severe, forcing us in the end to leave what remains of our house forcibly against our will and flee to southern Gaza, carrying only the clothes we were wearing, leaving behind our memories and everything we owned in an attempt to escape death and survive this genocide that spares no one. We fled to southern Gaza, feeling helpless and oppressed amidst destruction, tanks, and scattered corpses, some decomposed and some freshly killed, amidst the barrels of the enemy's guns, which we knew were skillfully aimed at our skulls, ignoring my younger brother's injury that disabled him from walking, or the exhaustion of my 55-year-old father suffering from chronic diseases: diabetes, high blood pressure, and heart problems, needing intensive medical care and regular medications. But with the onset of the war, my father suffered from a lack of medical care and medication, leading to deterioration in his health.

We walked for hours until we reached Rafah, expecting it to be a safe haven for us and our young children, but the reality was harsh and difficult, as the bombing and destruction did not stop. We didn't know where to go. Hunger and exhaustion weakened our bodies, as we suffered from a lack of money, food, and drinking water amidst a bleak scene of darkness and cold.

The suffering increased when my father was injured in the bombing and then arrested in Khan Yunis, subjected to torture, abuse, and starvation, leading to the deterioration of his health and complete collapse until he reached a stage of inability to move. All the remaining medications for him ran out, making it difficult to obtain them, and if available, they were very expensive, which broke my heart. We tried to provide some medications, but they eventually ran out completely, unfortunately.

We were close to death several times, but each time was a miracle that saved us from danger. I still remember trying to help an old lady collect the remains of her son after he was bombed near the water desalination station in Gaza. Nightmares, fear, and terror of what I saw and felt continue to haunt me.

Our suffering was constant; we received news of the bombing of the remaining part of our beloved house in Gaza, the bombing of our father's car, and another house we owned in Nusairat, and the martyrdom of several members of my family due to the bombing of our house.

We lost everything; there is nothing left for us except exhausted souls trying to survive in this miserable situation every day. Those souls lost hope and succumbed to death after the means of survival were cut off, and despair overcame them. We found shelter for 12 people, most of them children, only in a small tent in Rafah, our last refuge despite its coldness and small space. We were deprived of access to the simplest forms of life: water, food, safety, and warmth. Prices were very high, and obtaining food was difficult. Children's diseases worsened, and their health deteriorated due to lack of food and water pollution. Hepatitis spread among us due to pollution and the communal bathrooms in the refugee camp where we lived, and we spent all we had to get treatment to survive this disease.

Unfortunately, the moment the university I study in, the Islamic University, and the Al-Azhar University, where my sister studies, were bombed, it was a moment of despair and hopelessness. Destruction surrounded us from all sides, and dreams faded before our eyes. But in those difficult circumstances, we must find the strength to continue and rebuild.

Therefore, I find myself in an unprecedented situation, forced to reach out to you for your merciful help to save my life and my family's, and to escape from this war. But the price of salvation is high, as we have to pay $5000 each to evacuate Gaza and go to Egypt. We lost all our material possessions, but we don't want to lose our lives, so I have no choice but to humbly ask for your help. This fundraising campaign is a beacon of hope for us to survive, it is our only lifeline amidst the abyss of despair. With a heavy heart, I implore your generosity to help us overcome this incomprehensible ordeal. Your contribution can mean the difference between survival and oblivion for my family, and for that reason, we are forever grateful for any support.

مرحباً بالجميع، أنا نسمة، طالبة متفوقة في السنة النهائية في كلية تكنولوجيا المعلومات في الجامعة الاسلامية في غزة. لقد سعدت جدا بأن أكون على مشارف التخرج من الجامعة وتحقيق ما كنت أطمح إليه طوال مسيرتي الأكاديمية. من التخرج وقطف ثمار دراستي والعمل والاستقرار كنت أنا وعائلتي المكونة من 12 فردا وقطة اسمها لوسي وعصفورنا اللطيف كوكو نعيش حياة هادئة وجميلة. احتفلنا بإنجازاتنا الصغيرة، وكان كل منا يسعى جاهداً لتحقيق أحلامه. لقد عمل والداي بلا كلل من أجل تربيتنا. كان لدينا منزل في مدينة غزة حي الرمال . الحي الارقى في المدينة والاكثر حيوية كان منزلنا جميل وواسع يملؤه الأمان والسلام والعديد من الذكريات الجميلة بداخله وفي حديقته الجميلة المليئة بالعديد من الأشجار .

مؤخرا كنا نحتفل في حصول اختي شهد على درجة الامتياز في عامها الاول في كلية الصيدلية بعد ان درست بجد وحققت لقب الاولى على دفعتها في جامعة الأزهر بجدارة وبتعبها كان الفخر بها يملأ قلوبنا

وكذلك كنا نحضّر نفسنا للاحتفال بدكتورة المستقبل اختي فرح التي كنا نأمل بأن تحصل على معدل مرتفع في الثانوية العامة يُمكنها من الالتحاق في كلية الطب

كانت حياتنا اشبه بالكاملة ماديا وعاطفيا لم نشعر بالنقص او الحرمان من اي شيء

كان اخواي التؤام محمد وأحمد أجمل هدايا الله لنا بعد حرمان 16 سنة بلا اخوة ذكور كانا رياضيين لكل منهم شخصية مختلفة فمنهم من يحتل المراكز الاولى في رياضة السباحة ومنهم من يتقن العاب وبرمجة الكمبيوتر رغم صغر سنه

ولدينا الصغيران عبدالله والفراشة تالين نعم انها فراشة البيت وتفاحته وكذلك حصلنا على اجمل حفيدان عمر ونور مشاكسان لكن مرحان ومحبوبان

كانت اسرتنا كبيرة ودافئة محبة لبعضها متماسكة

لكن في السابع من أكتوبر، وقعت المأساة، وحطمت حياتنا في لحظات. لقد دخلنا واقعاً رهيباً، وقعنا في حصار قاسي عانينا فيه من شتى انواع التعب النفسي والجسدي والتجويع وما زاد من صعوبة الموقف اصابة اخي محمد ونحن محاصرون في منزلنا في غزة ومحاولتنا وقف نزيفه خلال 6 ساعات متواصلة لم ينقطع فيها صراخه الممزوج بالألم والتعب كانت الكواد كابتر تحاصر وتقتل كل من يخرج من منزله والدبابات تحاصر الحي بالكامل من جميع الجهات والقصف من الطائرات كان شديد جدا امتلأ البيت بالبارود بفعل قصف البيوت القريبة منا فقدنا القدرة على رؤية شيء والصعوبة في التنفس كان الليل طويل ومرهق ومتعب يملؤه رائحة القصف و ضوء الصواريخ وقنابل الفسفور التي تسقط علينا كالمطر تسببت بحرق اشجار حديقتنا وكل ما تسقط عليه وما زاد الموقف سوء هو قصف بيت جارنا وتدمر نصف بيتنا ونحن فيه نعاني الرعب والارهاق الجسدي والنفسي عملت اختي الدكتورة شهد جاهدة لمتابعة وقف نزيف اخي رغم قساوة الليلة وصعوبتها كانت نظرات الذعر والخوف اصعب من ان تُوصف كان صراخ ورعب الأطفال صعب ان يتحمله انسان نظرات اختي الصغيرة تالين ورعبها كسر قلبي النظر في عينيها ورؤية هذا الخوف والكسر في عيون طفلة صغيرة لم ترتكب ذنبا مؤلم جدا

لم يكتفي الاحتلال بذلك بل قام بتجويعنا وحرماننا من المياه مما ادى بنا في النهاية الى طحن اكل الحيوانات ومحاولة صنع خبز منه يسد جوع الأطفال الذي عانى بعضهم من سوء شديد في التغذية والجفاف كانت المعاناة والمأساة شديدة مما اضطرنا في النهاية الى ترك ما تبقى من بيتنا غصبا خارج عن ارادتنا والهروب الى جنوب غزة ولم نحمل سوى الملابس التي نرتديها، تاركين وراءنا ذكرياتنا وكل ما نملك هرباً من الموت والنجاة من هذه الإبادة الجماعية التي لا ترحم احدا . هربنا إلى جنوب قطاع غزة، ونحن نشعر بالعجز والقمع وسط الدمار والدبابات والجثث المتناثرة، بعضها متحلل وبعضها حديثة القتل وسط فوهات بنادق العدو، التي كنا نعلم أنها تصوب بمهارة نحو جماجمنا، لم تلتفت إلى إصابة أخي الأصغر التي أعاقته عن المشي، أو إلى إرهاق والدي الذي يبلغ من العمر 55 عاما ويعاني من أمراض مزمنة وهي مرض السكري وارتفاع ضغط الدم ومشاكل في القلب يحتاج إلى رعاية طبية مكثفة وأدوية منتظمة. لكن مع قدوم الحرب، عانى والدي من نقص الرعاية الطبية ونقص الأدوية، مما أدى إلى تدهور حالته الصحية.

مشينا لساعات طويلة حتى وصلنا إلى رفح، متوقعين أنها ستكون ملاذا آمنا لنا ولأطفالنا الصغار، لكن الواقع كان مرا وصعبا، حيث لم يتوقف القصف والدمار. لم نكن نعرف إلى أين نذهب. لقد أضعف الجوع والتعب أجسادنا، حيث عانينا من نقص المال والطعام والمياه الصالحة للشرب وسط مشهد مقفر من الظلام والبرد

وازدادت المعاناة عندما أصيب والدي في القصف ومن ثم اعتقاله في خانيونس وتعرضه للتعذيب والشبح والتجويع ما ادى الى تفاقم وضعه الصحي وانهياره بشكل كامل حتى وصل الى مرحلة عدم القدرة على الحركة ، نفدت جميع الأدوية المتبقية لديه، مما يصعب الحصول عليها، وفي حال توفرها فهي باهظة الثمن قلبي يؤلمني بشدة لحاله حاولنا توفير بعض الادوية لكنها في النهاية نفذت كليا للأسف

كنا قريبين من الموت عدة مرات، لكن في كل مرة كانت معجزة تخرجنا من الخطر لا زلت اتذكر محاولة مساعدتي لسيدة عجوز في جمع رفات ابنها بعد قصفه بالقرب من محطة لتحلية المياه في غزة لا تفارقني الكوابيس والخوف والرعب مما شاهدته ولمسته يداي

كانت المعاناة لا تفارقنا تلقينا خبر قصف المتبقي من منزلنا الحبيب في غزة، وقصف سيارة والدنا ومنزل ثاني نملكه في النصيرات واستشهاد عدد من افراد اسرتي جراء القصف منزلنا .

لقد فقدنا كل شيء؛ لم يبق لنا شيء سوا أرواح انهكها التعب ومحاولة النجاة في ظل هذا الوضع البائس كل يوم

تلك الأرواح التي فقدت الأمل واستسلمت للموت بعد انقطاع سبل النجاة وتمكن اليأس منهم

لم نجد مأوى ل12 فرد معظمها أطفال سوا خيمة صغيرة في رفح كانت ملاذنا الأخير رغم برودتها وصغر مساحتها لقد حرمنا من الوصول إلى أبسط أشكال الحياة: الماء والغذاء والسلامة والدفء. كانت الأسعار باهظة جدا والحصول على الغذاء كان صعب ازدادت امراض الاطفال وساءت حالتهم الصحية بسبب نقص الغذاء وتلوث المياه انتشر الكبد الوبائي بيننا بسبب التلوث والحمامات المشتركة في مخيم الخيام الذي نسكن فيه دفعنا كل ما نملك للحصول على العلاج للنجاة من هذا المرض .

للأسف كانت لحظة قصف جامعتنا الجامعة الاسلامية التي ادرس بها وجامعة الازهر التي تدرس بها اختي لحظة فقدان الأمل والشعور باليأس. كانت الدمار يحيط بنا من كل جانب، وكانت الأحلام تتلاشى أمام أعيننا. لكن في تلك الظروف الصعبة، يجب علينا أن نجد القوة لنستمر ونبني من جديد. الأمل يمكن أن يولد من الركام، والصمود يمكن أن يشعل شرارة الإيمان بغدٍ أفضل.

لذلك، أجد نفسي أعاني من وضع غير مسبوق، وأضطر إلى التواصل معك للحصول على مساعدتك الرحيمة لإنقاذ حياتي وعائلتي، والهروب من هذه الحرب.

لكن ثمن النجاة باهظ، حيث يتعين علينا أن ندفع 5000 دولار لكل واحد منا لاجلاء غزة والذهاب الى مصر . لقد فقدنا كل ممتلكاتنا المادية، لكننا لا نريد أن نخسر حياتنا، لذلك ليس لدي خيار سوى أن أطلب مساعدتك بكل تواضع. إن حملة جمع التبرعات هذه هي بمثابة منارة أمل لنا للبقاء على قيد الحياة، وهي شريان الحياة الوحيد لنا وسط هاوية اليأس. بقلب مثقل أتوسل إلى كرمكم لمساعدتنا في التغلب على هذه المحنة غير المفهومة. مساهمتك يمكن أن تعني الفرق بين البقاء والنسيان لعائلتي، ولهذا السبب، نحن ممتنون إلى الأبد لأي دعم

The funds will be collected in a US bank account( Mena Kassie’s bank account) then transferred to the family via PayPal/Western Union or bank transfer to the family in Gaza to meet their basic needs. For evacuation purposes, we will be sending the money to Nesma’s uncle in Turkey to help facilitate the transfer of my family from Gaza to Egypt and help utilize the funds to register the family for travel.

Additional funds will be collected for meeting basic needs in Egypt after evacuation and eventually help the family immigrate to their country of choice.
