<div>My name is Neesha. For the last 15 of this body's 29 years, I’ve been living as a woman  of trans and Fa’afafine experience. I’ve come to know the talented, beautiful, funny, and sometimes challenging soul that carries this current face. A face that’s witnessed sorrow, heartache, happiness, and joy. All these moments were truly felt by the real eyes observing from behind a face that was never hers to begin with.

<div>I’m deeply grateful for the journey that’s brought me to this point. Along the way came valuable lessons — patience, compassion, resilience. I’ve picked up new skills, made beautiful friendships that have become chosen family, and discovered a sense of peace within myself to help ease the weight of gender dysphoria — that quiet ache that lives in the part of my soul that knows what’s right and what’s true.

<div>This face — the one I’ve lived with all my life — has never truly felt like mine. It doesn’t reflect the spirit I carry. And so, it’s time for the next step in this shell’s evolution: to allow its true spirit to finally take form.

<div>I want to be able to walk tall and proud, without the overhanging shadow cast upon the windows to my soul, day in and day out. I want to wear my hair up without feeling completely exposed to the uneducated and ignorant. I deserve to wear my hair in a bun and not feel sprung. Like… don’t pmoo, lol.

<div>It’s not easy asking for help, but I’ve learned that community carries each other so damn hard. So here I am, reaching out with a full heart, asking for support — whether that’s a donation, a share, or simply sending this into the universe with some love behind it. But before you decide to take this request, I’d love to invite you to read a tiny bit about who I am and how I get buck in the West End.

<div>I’m a guest on the unceded sovereign lands of the Yuggera and Turrbal people. My family settled here in 1995, shortly before my birth. I grew up here — spent most of my childhood calling Inala home and it is where I decided to socially transition in late 2011 later graduating high school in 2012. I

<div><span>didn’t actually start HRT until I met my chosen family, House of Alexander — a family that’s always been heavy on family essence, and deeply caring towards trans folks, especially fem queens. During that time, I found guidance and support from Ella and my siblings. They pushed me into spaces I never thought I’d find myself in. Together, we engaged with our community — sharing an adopted culture (Ballroom) as a way to connect, inspire, and create.</span>
</div>

<div>I started walking in Ballroom categories like Hands Performance and Old Way. Eventually, I moved into the art of DJing when I realised the heartbeat was missing. That kicked off my journey as a Ballroom DJ, leading me to become the first ever Fem Queen DJ in so-called Australia. Along the way, I met some incredibly talented and passionate individuals who have inspired me in more ways than one. Through the friendships that bloomed within the queer underground music scene, I collaborated on projects that sparked waves of meaningful change across QTBIPOC spaces.

<div>Since then, I’ve continued rising as an upcoming DJ — taking up space in meaningful ways, and inspiring a new generation of queer folks to be unapologetically themselves, whether through music or by honouring their true spirit.

<div>I’ve poured my energy into helping cultivating spaces for community, raising funds for human rights causes, and advocating for QTBIPOC representation through collaborations. I’ve helped people look their best, neutered dis, offered shelter and care to beautiful souls I now call family. I’ve been in service to a community that welcomed me with open arms. A community of storytellers, poets, journalists, curators, advocates, creators, models, DJs, drag artists, singers, dancers, painters, rappers, strippers, noise-makers, kink-makers, sweat-makers, salt-shakers. The sculptors, the speakers, the worshippers, the staunch cxnts, the feral cxnts. The weekly guide-makers, the cooks, the painters, the producers, listeners, observers, healers and ancestors. My mother and father but rarely my own spirit

<div>Through those commitments, I bloomed and flourished. I was so busy, I sometimes forgot I even had gender dysphoria. I wish it was something I never have to remember. And although I’ve learned how to navigate dysphoria through decolonisation, the discomfort still sits in my soul like a storm — shaking me into internal anxiety.

</div>

<div>If you’ve followed me for a while, you’ll know I’ve never been quite comfortable in front of a camera. Not because I don’t love being seen — but because my spirit shines through a face that was never hers. I often feel embarrassed about how I look, even when I pretend otherwise. It’s something I don’t want to relive over and over during press shoots or when friends snap cheeky candid shots (lol, I love you anyway).

<div>These moments only amplify what’s been brewing inside — and they are just some of the reasons why I need this gender-affirming care.

</div>

<div>So now I’m asking: Would you help me do this — for my spirit, for my mental health, for my peace?

</div>

<div>The costs are big — surgery, travel, recovery — and I can’t do this alone. I know how tough things are right now financially, so I’m deeply grateful for every cent and dollar shared. If we’ve ever taken up space together, shared a yarn, or danced alongside one another, I’d be so grateful if you could share this among your circles — even if donating isn’t an option.
