Help Needed For Darwin's Uninsured Medical Care

Hi,

My name is Kathi. I am Darwin's oldest biological daughter of 13 children. My father developed inoperable Colon cancer in 2018. His beginning mass was 6.55 cm. He has been on ongoing chemo ever since. Several nodules metastasized to his Liver. Pictured, this was him in the hospital in December of 2018, and we prayed for a MIRACLE. Three years of ongoing non-systemic chemo to save his life. A week ago he was rushed to the hospital with a blockage in his intestine. The grim reality is he was not strong enough to fix the blockage, so they put in a stent and informed the family he was dying, and there was nothing more they could do to help him. He has been transferred to a Boarding facility since he lives on a boat. Medicare does not pay for this expense, and the Owner of his facility told me his Monthly rate is $7,500.00 per month. With him no longer working, my stepmother, who is in her 80's is forced to seek a loan. She has been by his bedside since Hospice is not there daily to help him with his daily feeding & needs. Community help is desperately needed to keep him stay situated and help Valerie with the ongoing expenses. We don't know how much longer he has. It could be days, weeks or months. Please consider donating. The family would greatly appreciate any amount to lessen their expenses. My goal is 20K which is two months of Boarding care, and 5K towards her other uninsured medical needs for my father.

 

My father was an active and well-known Building Designer in Sausalito. He is the founder of "Designs For Production." He also has been the main provider for his wife and children. His zest for life was indescribable. His life has been dedicated to helping others, and now he is in a position where he needs the communities love & support to lessen the burden financially for his wife. Before cancer, he was an active seaman, loved sailing, camping and hiking.
