<div>My name is Nazmi, and I live in Gaza. Since the beginning of the war, my family and I have been displaced more than ten times. For over a year and a half, we've lived in constant fear and terror. Nearly every month, we flee from death, again and again.

<div>The borders are closed. Food is either unavailable or impossibly expensive. Water is scarce due to the lack of fuel. Each day is a fight for survival—against hunger, thirst, and fear. Our friends, neighbors, and even family members are being killed. We are losing everyone and everything.

<div>Our home was destroyed. Our dreams were shattered. We have nothing left. At times, death feels easier than this life. We’re still breathing, but we are broken. We survived the bombs, but we’re drowning in despair.

<div>I am **Nazmi Mwafi**, a Palestinian from Gaza, who graduated with a degree in Computer Systems Engineering just one month before the war broke out. For years, I dreamed of becoming a **short film maker**, sharing my adventures and experiences with the world. #### Before the War: Challenges and a Faint Hope Life in Gaza has always been challenging, with unemployment being the norm. Despite these hardships, I worked tirelessly to save money for a camera to kickstart my filmmaking journey from scratch. I started sharing simple stories on **Snapchat**, gaining a following of more than **10,000 followers**. In search of opportunities, I applied for the **American lottery**, though I wasn’t sure if my application was correctly submitted. I also applied to travel to **Canada**, but my request was rejected. My goal wasn’t to migrate permanently, but rather to work and save enough money to achieve my dream. #### The War: A Turning Point When the war began, my life was turned upside down. My home was destroyed, and my dreams seemed out of reach. The faint 1% hope I had of achieving my aspirations was completely extinguished. Despite this, I refused to succumb to despair. I decided to channel my energy into serving my community, especially the children who were the most affected by the war. #### Establishing the Compassionate Champions Team During the War In the midst of the war, the idea of the **Compassionate Champions** team was born. The mission was to support children, particularly orphans who had lost their families, and to alleviate their psychological suffering. - **Activities of the Compassionate Champions Team:** 1. **Psychological Relief:** Organizing sessions for expressive drawing, Palestinian dabke, and songs to bring joy to children. 2. **Education and Recreation:** Setting up classrooms in shelters to teach children new skills under the slogan: **“Nothing is Impossible.”** 3. **Talent Development:** Launching initiatives to discover and nurture children’s talents amidst the harsh conditions. 4. **Providing Aid:** Offering material and moral support by distributing food parcels and building tents for displaced families. 5. **Entertainment Events:** Hosting festivals and competitions to give children a sense of safety and happiness. #### The Team’s Message Our message is simple but profound: **"Even in the darkest times, we can create hope."** #### Today: Between Pain and Hope The war is still ongoing, and so is our mission. The **Compassionate Champions** team has become my new family, and our daily goal is to make a difference in the lives of children and families torn apart by the war. As for me, my dream of becoming a filmmaker is on hold but not forgotten. One day, I will tell our stories to the world—stories of suffering and pain, but also of resilience and unwavering hope.
