Help Native family get a reliable car

On March 11th, my mom had gotten into a car accident while out picking up food for herself and my younger siblings to have during the stay at home order. As she was leaving the parking lot to turn onto the main street, she got T-boned by an older man who later admitted to not paying attention and clearly didn't see my mom and didn't have enough time to slow down which resulted in our car being totaled due to the side of the frame being bent in which we discovered after the doors had been taken down. We had had trouble getting the information of the man who hit us from the police and had to wait about two weeks to get anything, and in the beginning, the old white man who hit my mom said he would help us out with payments, but then when it really came down to it he stopped replying to our messages and calls so then we sought legal support from a couple of Car Collison attorneys and due to the fact that the officer reported the accident as both drivers fault that it would be a hard case to carry which along with having the cheapest insurance we could find led us to this situation we are in now. We are hoping to raise anywhere from 6K-8K then begin our search for a reliable cheap car to use and to maintain a roof over our heads. We will keep you all updated on our search once enough funds are raised, and anything helps and is greatly appreciated, especially since my mom is still waiting on the unemployment people, and I lost a part of my income due to whats going on in the world right now.
