Natasha Warwaruk, affectionately known as “Tada” to many friends and family has been an energetic and active individual throughout her lifetime. In her early 20’s Natasha was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis (MS) and over the years her mobility has become increasingly challenged. When day to day tasks became more difficult several years ago, Natasha chose to take a break from her job as an elementary school teacher to focus on her health, hoping to maintain as much physical function as possible. She has been unable to return to her teaching job due to her physical limitations caused by her MS. Since then, walking on her own has become too difficult and Natasha now uses a motorized wheel chair and scooter to get around.
Two sources of joy in Natasha’s life are socializing and being outdoors enjoying nature. Natasha can often be spotted enjoying her daily “walks” on her scooter either by herself, enjoying the nature around her, or with a friend or two. Perhaps she has her binoculars with her too and she is taking in the birds that fill the prairie skies and trees.
In October of 2024 Natasha moved into an accessible apartment in Outlook, SK where she is currently living. This winter she experienced even more reduced mobility and her current wheel chair and scooter no longer meet her needs. She has spent this spring and part of the winter mostly housebound because of this.
With much discussion between Natasha, those close to her, and her health care team, an option for a more advanced wheelchair with significantly more comforts was presented. This chair would greatly enhance Natasha’s ability to once again participate in the activities that she enjoys.
Along with all the bells and whistles, this chair also comes with a hefty price tag. We humbly ask if you are able, to please consider donating to this cause to help Natasha mobilize more comfortably.
If you wish to donate in another way besides this platform, please contact Loreah.
