Help Nancy get medical treatment and travel home

It was always our Mom's (Nancy's) dream to go on an Alaskan cruise. After several years, her dream became a reality. Then COVID hit and delayed her dream 2 more years. This year it finally happened and her cruise was booked. She set out to sea on July 8th following her and her husband's 46th wedding anniversary. On July 11th they had a great day in Skagway, Alaska. As they were getting ready for bed, the unthinkable happened. She fell and was unable to move the left side of her body due to a major stroke. She was taken to medical on the cruise ship where they took her into the port and flew her to Juneau. At the small Juneau hospital, they tried a blood thinner to break up the clot with no success and with no neurologist on staff. It was then decided to fly her to Providence Medical Center in Anchorage, Alaska. When she arrived, they did a procedure to remove the clot. The neurologist was able to remove some of it but unfortunately not all of it.
She showed no significant improvement following the procedure on the 12th. She is still unable to move her left arm and left leg, unable to turn her head, unable to swallow and unable to speak well. The doctor decided to insert a feeding tube to improve her strength and begin physical therapy. On the 13th, she started showing a small improvement from physical therapy by moving her head on her own.
We, her daughters, flew out to see and support our Mom and Dad. We arrived in Anchorage on the 14th and were able to see our Dad and speak with our Mom. Today, she has been able to move her toes as a pain response and her speech has gotten a little better. At this time, she will remain at the hospital and is unable to travel home for at least 10 days.
Due to the unknown needs and travel for our Mom, we do not know how much everything will cost. We are unsure of the medical equipment that will be needed, the way we will have to travel, what medical support she might need, how long we will need to stay in Alaska or how long our journey home will take. We really appreciate any support that you can provide. This will be a huge help to us and our family.
UPDATE: We have found out that Mom will have to travel by Med Flight home and her insurance may only partially cover it. We still don't have a set date on when she will be released from the hospital and if she will be home or here in Alaska for intense rehabilitation.
UPDATE 7/29: We found out that our Mom will be returning to Alabama via medical flight to start intense rehabilitation next week. This is one big step but still a long way to go in recovery. Her progress in Anchorage has been small steps. Our Mom has been able to start swallowing, drinking and eating a little. She's also been able to stand with assistance from a machine in the last of days.
UPDATE 8/7: Our Mom and Dad returned back to Alabama last week. Our Mom has been making some progress this week with therapy. She has started eating non-pureed foods, swallowing her medicine, improving her speech, standing and swaying assisted, and gaining a little bit of feeling back in her left leg and arm. With the help of the therapists, doctors, nurses, techs and support staff at the facility and the support of our family and friends, we have confidence that our Mom will continue to improve over the next several weeks.
