My Color & Design photography project has been accepted to the international art competition, ArtPrize, to be held this Fall at CityFlatsHotel in Grand Rapids, Mich., running Sept. 13-Oct. 8. This project is a collection of 12 photographs displayed in a four-by-three grid. These images focus on a minimalist perspective of color and design.
Each photo will be 144 square inches and printed on canvas, then stretched on bars like a traditional painting. To print each photo on canvas will cost $79, for a total of $943. Pat Carr of Carr Imaging, here in Albuquerque, will be printing the images on canvas. He is an excellent printer with whom I've worked on quite a few smaller projects. His work is something I trust to exceed my own expectations. To cut down on cost, I am shipping the canvas prints to Grand Rapids and having them stretched onto bars there. LaFontsee Galleries, another group I highly trust, will stretch them, making each photo ready to hang. Each print will cost $40 to stretch, for a total of $477.
In September, I am flying out to Grand Rapids to sign off on the stretched images, hang the show, be available to talk about my work during Preview Week, and attend the Artists' Opening Reception, which is the first official day of ArtPrize. This includes roundtrip airfare, renting a car, food, and lodging for two and a half weeks. Also, I've included the possibility that none of these images will be sold, so they will need to be shipped back to Albuquerque.

All funds I am able to raise through this campaign will help tremendously, and allow me the means to display these images at their optimal scale and quality at ArtPrize. Any amounts pledged are greatly appreciated. Any amounts pledged in excess of my goal will be used to seek additional exhibition opportunities.
