My son's wife has been bravely battling stage 5 renal kidney failure for the past five years. She has endured countless hours of dialysis and has been waiting for a kidney transplant, but her insurance only allowed her to be eligible for a deceased donor. Recently, her insurance situation changed, and she is now eligible to receive a kidney from a living donor. In an incredible turn of events, my son got tested and we were overjoyed to discover that he is a match. The person who could save her life has been beside her all along.

 They have a 13-year-old daughter who has watched her parents face these challenges with strength and love. My son is the sole provider for their family, and with the upcoming surgery, he will need to take time off work to recover alongside his wife. This means they will have no income for a while, and the expenses will quickly add up. They will need to travel back and forth to another city for all the preparations leading up to the surgery, and once the surgery is complete, they will have to stay in that city in a hotel to recover. The costs of transportation, hotel stays, food, and keeping their household afloat during this time are overwhelming.
