Help My Northern Gaza Family Evacuate to Safety
Donation protected
My name is Said Alhayek, I am a US citizens born and raised in Gaza. As the genocide in Gaza continues, I continue to receive pleas from family to help them evacuate. with the current expenses imposed by the monopoly over the privilege of crossing to Egypt continue, they continue to set a high price for safety. My cousin, Mohammad, is seeking to save and restart his family life in a safer place. Unfortunately, with them losing all their resources, we had to resort to crowd sourcing. I am merely acting as a financial and logistical facilitator to help them evacuate. Mohammad had already lost hie brother, mother, nephews and nieces in this on going massacre against the Palestinian people. Any help here might be life saving. Below are his own words
"Evacuating from Gaza to a safer country is our utmost priority. The situation in Gaza has become unbearable, with ongoing obstacles forcing us to move from North Gaza to the South, leaving behind our home. Our family consists of seven members – three daughters, two sons, my wife,
and myself.
The complexities of life in Gaza are evident. Buildings lay in ruins, the constant threat of war looms, and basic necessities like food are exorbitantly priced with dwindling income. Daily life is punctuated by the deafening sounds of bombings and the ominous presence of aircraft overhead. We find shelter in a single empty room, generously provided by a compassionate individual. Yet, even obtaining water for drinking and household tasks proves to be a challenging
feat, undertaken daily.
The absence of electricity further compounds our struggles, requiring us to seek out locations to charge our electronic devices. Amidst this turmoil, there shines a beacon of hope in the form of my ten-year-old son, Anas, a talented artist adept at working with clay and creating intricate drawings. It is my fervent wish to nurture his talents and provide him with opportunities to flourish.
However, the path to safety is fraught with financial barriers. We have heard of others leaving Gaza to Egypt and other secure nations, but the exorbitant fees demanded by travel agencies present a significant hurdle. Each adult requires $5000 for travel arrangements, while each child
necessitates $2500. To facilitate our relocation and establish ourselves in a new environment, we estimate additional expenses of approximately $10000 for initial accommodation and living expenses.
My family consists of myself, Mohammad, My wife, Ehab, 17, Hala, 16, Lana, 13, Anas, 10 & Noor, 8. Therefore, we appeal for assistance in raising a total of $37500 to enable our family to evacuate to a safer haven. We dream of finding refuge in Canada, where we can rebuild our lives free from the constant threat of conflict and uncertainty.
In conclusion, we understand that this may seem like a tragedy for us, but not only for us, but for many in Gaza who face the same difficulties. Therefore, we hope that this appeal will be an opportunity for the world to come together and provide support for those who are suffering.
As recipients of this appeal, we ask that you consider offering assistance in any way possible. Whether through participating in donations or sharing this appeal with others who may be able to help.
Thank you very much for your concern and support. We hope that these challenging circumstances will come to an end soon, and that a better tomorrow awaits us all."
I plan on collecting the funds on Behalf of my cousin and his family, then either travel to Egypt to register them to exit Gaza, or send the money to my sister in Egypt to do so. In addition, once then exit, I will send the remaining funds for them to secure shelter, and buy basic necessities.
Thank you again for your help friends, family and allies !
