<div>Hi, my name is Sam, and with a heavy heart I am humbly appealing to anyone reading this to please help me raise money to help my mum Gina. She has MND, and while visiting America with my dad she developed pneumonia and had to be hospitalised in a critical condition. This event means she will require surgery and permanent ventilation, meaning we are faced with significant medical bills. This also complicates her return, as we will need to pay for an expensive private medical flight to bring her back home to Australia.

<div>I do not want to deceive anybody who is kind enough to donate, so I will be as clear and honest about our current financial needs. All of these events have evolved very quickly over the last couple of days. We are still waiting on a quote for medical transport, but it could be in the realm of $200,000. It also hasn’t been decided whether mum will receive surgery in the US or back home. If it happens in the US, it could cost another $200,000. The current medical bills up to this point are already over $100,000.

<div>Because of how much financial uncertainty is surrounding this situation, I can only set a temporary goal for our fundraiser and give everybody updates as our situation unfolds.

<div>More than anything, we want mum to get safely home. She loves her home and just wants to be with the people she loves. Any amount you can contribute would be immeasurably appreciated. I know that not everybody is in the position to donate, but if you could share this with your friends and family that would be incredibly generous.
