Telling my mom's story

$4000 is what it will take to do the following:
- Help my mom hire a company to publish her book, and release it into the world
- Tell her story
- Give her a voice that has otherwise stayed silent, working tirelessly to fulfill her dreams and provide for her family
For 25 years, I've essentially taken from my parents, with only gratitude to show for their efforts. All of the times they dropped me off at school because I woke up late; all the times they funded my field trips and hobbies, and their endless guidance...I feel like I'll never do enough in my lifetime to repay their love. But I feel like I can start with this.
My mom has a goal - she wants to write a book that tells her story. It will detail her life before, during, and after the Vietnam War, and her challenges in moving to the States and adapting to a whole new way of life. From what I've read so far, it's thrilling, captivating, and heart wrenching. It's inspired a whole new level of conversation with my parents that I can only appreciate now that I have the presence of mind to do so. She speaks to her escape from Vietnam, her perilous journey across many refugee camps, and her life afterwards - adapting to the strange, exciting, and liberating experience that is America.
But it isn't cheap - and unfortunately I'm not rich just yet. The $4000 will go towards editing, publishing, and licensing fees. I'm engrossed with the story, and am actively helping her develop her content - but I want to also contribute in more ways, to express how sincerely I want her to be able to tell her story to more than just me. I'd be forever grateful for any contributions towards this goal, and thank you in advance for your time and consideration.
P.S.! - any donations exceeding $30 will receive a signed copy (paper or electronic) of the book upon its completion.
