Help My Mom Rebuild After a Devastating Scam

This isn’t easy to write, and if my mom knew I was doing this, she’d probably ask me not to. But sometimes, when someone we love is hurting, we step in quietly — not to fix everything, but to hold up the pieces with them.

My mom recently fell victim to an elaborate and cruel scam. What she thought was a genuine connection and a trustworthy situation turned out to be a well-orchestrated lie. The person who deceived her didn’t just take her money — he stole something far more valuable: her dignity, her confidence, and her sense of self-worth.

She’s always been the strongest person I know. The one who gives without asking, who sacrifices without hesitation. Watching her struggle through the emotional fallout of this experience has been heartbreaking. She feels ashamed, even though none of this was her fault. These scammers are professionals at what they do — manipulating emotions, building trust, and then tearing it all down.
