Help my mom keep her vision!

Hello, my name is Rosie Garza and I am writing to ask you to support me and my mom Norma Garza-Benitez to help keep her eye sight. I realize we all know people are struggling during the 2020 pandemic, but if my mom does not get this surgery soon she could lose her vision.  She is frightened to think that all of a sudden her world can fade into darkness.

Just a small donation can help me accomplish my goal to help my mom. Your contributions will go toward 2 eye injections to help reduce her swelling, laser surgery and eye surgery. The estimated cost for all these treatments are $4,000.

The major sensory organ is the eyes and we all rely on our sight for everything. Simple tasks will become challenging for my mom. Even keeping a job. It scares me to think that this could be a possibility because, not only her world will change but so will mine.

Here is a little information of my moms diagnosis. My mom was diagnosed with DIABETIC RETINOPATHY. It is a diabetes complication that affects eyes. It's caused by damage to the blood vessels of the light-sensitive tissue at the back of the eye (retina). At first, diabetic retinopathy may cause no symptoms or only mild vision problems. If it’s not treated, retinopathy can cause blindness.

As of today my mom cannot see out of her right eye due to damaged blood vessels and we hope this surgery will save it.
