<div>My family is facing an unimaginable challenge after my mom, the heart and soul of our household, suffered a life-altering stroke. She was shovelling snow in the freezing cold (-21°C) while Dad was at work when she collapsed unexpectedly. For nearly an hour, she lay on the snow, on the driveway, until kind strangers found her and called 911, saving her life. She was rushed to the hospital, where skilled neurologists performed an Emergency Vascular Thrombectomy (EVT) to remove the clot and give her a fighting chance.

<div>My mom is my biggest inspiration. She has sacrificed so much to support our family and always put us first, even in the hardest of times. When I was young, she encouraged me through every step of my Irish dancing competitions, cheering me on and showing me the value of perseverance and dedication. She has been a nurse her entire life, helping countless people with her compassion and skill. Watching her selflessness and strength inspired me to pursue nursing myself and to strive every day to make a difference in the lives of others. She taught me to face challenges positively and look for ways to lift others up. She is the woman I aspire to be.

As the primary provider of the family, her inability to work during this critical time has left us facing not only emotional heartbreak but also overwhelming financial uncertainty. She has always given everything to ensure we were cared for and sacrificed a lot for my family to live a better life. Now, she needs our care more than ever.
