Hi, my name is Michael , and I’m starting this GoFundMe on behalf of my mom Mary, who is battling End Stage Emphysema. It’s hard to put into words how much she means to me and how difficult this journey has become.

She’s currently facing a critical point in her fight – we’re preparing for Lung Volume Reduction Surgery (LVRS) to help give her a better quality of life and hopefully a few more precious years. If all goes well, the next step after recovery would be a lung transplant.

We’ve been told she’ll need to stay in Seattle for a significant amount of time after the surgery to recover. That means we’ll have to cover housing, food, transportation (taxis/Uber), and just daily survival costs on top of regular bills and rent back home.

This GoFundMe is to help with everything — the financial burden is overwhelming. I wish I could do it all on my own, but we’re at a point where we need help.

We’re trying to raise $10,000 to get through this next phase — to keep a roof over our heads, food on the table, and ensure my mom can recover in a safe, stable environment.
