Help Bonnie Recover from Harvey

Hi there, my name is Talib Abdullahi and I live in Austin Texas. 

Bonnie, my mom, has been living in Houston since 1968 when she moved there for college. She has lived and worked as a jazz musician and teacher for most of those years. She is known as one of Houston's greatest jazz pianists of the 70's and 80's, at a time when few female musicians were considered better than their male counterparts.

During Hurricane Harvey, my mom's house got hit with 3-5 inches of flood waters. Her home office was hit especially hard, as well as the living room, dining room and garage. After we demo'd most of the walls and carpet, we realized there was tons of mold growing all over the house. With the help of friends we demo'd and threw stuff away for two days, and I fainted on the third from stress and illness. The house has been deemed unlivable by her landlord and several others. After all all of the floodwaters and the mold, her house is a total loss. We are raising money for my mom to get back on her feet and restart her business with a 6 month plan in Austin, Texas. 

My mom runs her own small business teaching piano lessons to kids and adults. Having to evacuate has already put her behind on paying staff, personal bills, plus completely stopping her normal livelihood. Your donation will help my mom cover costs from having to evacuate, the costs of relocating to Austin, buying a new hospital bed, medical supplies, a deposit and 6 months rent at a new apartment, and her expenses while she gets back on her feet for the next 6 months. Though the goal seems high, the costs are budgeted for a 6 month plan to help her get back on her feet after losing her home and livelihood in the hurricane.
