We created this fundraiser to help our grandparents, Lucia and Alberto, who lost their home in the recent earthquake that struck Colombia.  They have lived for more than 25 years in the rural area of La Celia, Risaralda. Due to the disaster, the home they knew and where they built an entire life is no longer a safe place to live. Although the house is still standing, the engineers and firefighters who assessed the property informed our family that the residence is uninhabitable due to the severe damage it sustained and that there is a risk it could collapse at any moment.  Our grandparents are elderly, and this entire situation has been incredibly painful for our family. Access to water has also become a serious problem. The area was already experiencing water shortages due to the heat, and now water is only being provided every two days.  Right now, our most urgent priority is making sure that our grandparents and the rest of our family have access to water, food, and medication. Our grandmother needs insulin every day, so ensuring that she has continuous access to this essential medication is especially important to us.   As the days go by and the land is assessed to determine what can safely be done in this mountainous area, your donations will also help us begin working toward finding a safe place where our grandparents can live again.   In addition to our grandparents, several members of our family were suddenly left without a home and will also have to rebuild their lives. This fundraiser will also help support our loved ones who have been affected by this tragedy.  No donation is too small, and every contribution will make a difference in helping our family through this incredibly difficult time.

 Ellos han vivido durante más de 25 años en la zona rural de La Celia, Risaralda. Debido a la catástrofe, la casa que conocían y en la que construyeron toda una vida ya no es un lugar seguro para vivir. Ya que aunque la casa sigue en pie, los ingenieros y los bomberos que evaluaron la propiedad informaron a nuestra familia que la vivienda es inhabitable debido a los graves daños que sufrió y que existe riesgo de que se derrumbe en cualquier momento.   Mis abuelos son adultos mayores, y toda esta situación ha sido muy dolorosa para nuestra familia. El acceso al agua se ha convertido en un problema muy serio. La zona ya estaba enfrentando racionamientos debido al calor, y ahora el agua solo está llegando cada dos días.

 En este momento, nuestra necesidad más urgente es asegurarnos de que mis abuelos y el resto de nuestra familia tengan acceso a agua, alimentos y medicamentos. Mi abuela necesita insulina todos los días, por lo que poder garantizarle el acceso a su medicamento esencial es especialmente importante. Mientras pasan los días y se evalúa el terreno para determinar qué se puede hacer de manera segura en esa zona montañosa, las donaciones también nos ayudarán a comenzar a trabajar en la posibilidad de conseguir un lugar seguro donde mis abuelos puedan volver a vivir.
   Además de ellos, varios miembros de nuestra familia se quedaron sin hogar de un día para otro y también que reconstruir sus vidas. Esta colecta también servirá para apoyar a todos nuestros seres queridos que han sido afectados por esta tragedia. Ninguna cantidad es demasiado pequeña, y cada donación hará una diferencia para poder ayudarles en este momento tan difícil.

  Familia Hernandez Ramirez français Nous avons créé cette collecte de fonds pour aider nos grands-parents, Lucia et Alberto, qui ont perdu leur maison lors du récent tremblement de terre qui a frappé la Colombie.  Ils vivent depuis plus de 25 ans dans la zone rurale de La Celia, dans le département de Risaralda. En raison de la catastrophe, la maison qu’ils connaissaient et dans laquelle ils ont construit toute une vie n’est plus un endroit sûr où vivre. Bien que la maison soit toujours debout, les ingénieurs et les pompiers qui ont évalué la propriété ont informé notre famille que le logement est inhabitable en raison des graves dommages qu’il a subis et qu’il existe un risque qu’il s’effondre à tout moment. Nos grands-parents sont âgés, et toute cette situation a été extrêmement douloureuse pour notre famille. L’accès à l’eau est également devenu un problème très sérieux. La région faisait déjà face à des restrictions d’eau en raison de la chaleur, et maintenant, l’eau n’est distribuée que tous les deux jours.
  En ce moment, notre priorité la plus urgente est de nous assurer que nos grands-parents et le reste de notre famille aient accès à de l’eau, de la nourriture et à leurs médicaments. Notre grand-mère a besoin d’insuline tous les jours. Il est donc particulièrement important pour nous de pouvoir lui garantir un accès continu à ce traitement essentiel.
  Au fil des jours, le terrain sera évalué afin de déterminer ce qui peut être fait en toute sécurité dans cette zone montagneuse. Vos dons nous aideront également à commencer à chercher une solution pour que nos grands-parents puissent, avec le temps, retrouver un endroit sûr où vivre.
  En plus de nos grands-parents, plusieurs membres de notre famille se sont retrouvés sans logement du jour au lendemain et devront eux aussi reconstruire leur vie. Cette collecte servira également à soutenir nos proches qui ont été touchés par cette tragédie. Aucun don n’est trop petit, et chaque contribution fera une réelle différence pour aider notre famille à traverser cette période extrêmement difficile.
