Help an old boy publish his book.

I'm raising funds so Alan Greenwood can publish his children's book on bushcraft.

About Alan:
Alan is an Indigenous Australian. Back in the late 80s and to mid 90s he worked at Port Kennedy Beach Camp teaching kids about Bushcraft, Survival and Environmental Protection. Appily known as "The Bush Tucker man" to the kids he taught a lot of these these Kids not just about nature but a set of rules and ideals to live by.

From the PKBK he went onto set up programs in the Peel region of W.A again helping kids and the indigenous communities in the area. Finally he ended up in the Pilbara region of W.A where he worked, ran and managed the local Indigenous communities until an untimed accident left him in a wheelchair after working there for 13 years.

Today he lives in the midwest region of W.A where although he has lost his legs he has not lost his voice, sense of community, his love for nature, his humour or his want to teach traditional skills to children and adults.

About the Book:
The book is called L.O.S.T., it follows 2 bilby's (An Australian Marsupial) as they travel lost looking for food, water, shelter and warmth. The book is well illustrated and is set out simple, so children can follow the story, learn and practice their bushcraft skills. The book is directed for children 5 and up and it is set out so that the children can practice these skills in a school yard, at home or even on holiday with the family.

Alan and his friend Damper have worked tirelessly on the wording setting out and the intrigue illustrations on the book for over 2 years and now it is time to go to print.

The money been asked for is so Alan can get the book to the publishers and get a first print done. Where he will send copies of it to schools, Libraries and anywhere else he can to have it put into the mainstream world. As Alan is on a pension and in a wheelchair he can not see the full of his work until funding is found.

About the page writer:
My name is Ethan. I was one of those not so well off children that went to that camp where Alan worked. I attended the camp from the age of 9 to just before 14 every second weekend and a week on the holiday. To a lot of us Alans' teaching gave us a set of principles to live by in nature and the wider world. Today I am nearly 40 and I now, myself, teach the knowledge Alan has outlay in the book to a new generation.

A lot of the other children that have grown up today have gone on to work on the land, with the environment and of cause other fields. One  thing is sure about Alan, these kids still remember him and ask me all the time how he is going and what he is up to all these years later.

Alan is never to busy to stop and have a coffee with you and is well loved by anyone that crosses his path. I myself see him on a daily basis and we can spend days talking into night and never cross the same thought twice.

Alan is a traditional law man and healer and his only want is to keep this knowledge alive while contributing to the next generation and helping them reconnect with the land and world around them.

All funds raised will be going straight to Alan so that he can see his dream of publishing his first book. He intends to publish more after the childrens book directed more to the older kids and adult generation.
