Hi, my name is Dean, and I’m writing this appeal on behalf of my close friend and his incredible family.

Just a short while ago, my friend’s father underwent a life-altering surgery — his entire right jaw was removed due to aggressive cancer. Since then, life has never been the same for him or his family.

He now has a small hole in his throat and is unable to eat. Every day, his body is growing weaker. His weight is dropping, and his health is deteriorating fast because he simply cannot get the nutrition he needs. He can no longer speak properly, and basic things we all take for granted — like a family meal or a laugh around the table — have disappeared from his life.

My friend is an only child, and watching him and his mother try to stay strong as they witness their father suffer is heartbreaking. There is a deep sadness in their home, but there’s still hope — and that’s where you come in.

This is an urgent and sincere appeal from the heart. We are raising funds to support:

Emergency medical care and nutritional support

Specialised equipment to help him communicate and feed safely

Ongoing treatment and pain management

Support for the family, who have sacrificed everything to be by his side
