Early this morning, my family experienced a terrifying event when their garage caught on fire around 5am. Thankfully, a friend who was staying with them woke up needing to use the restroom and noticed smoke and heat coming from the garage. He quickly woke up my parents, got my little sister out of the house, and made sure all the dogs were safe. Thanks to his quick thinking, everyone was able to escape unharmed. While I am so grateful that my family and their pets are safe, the fire has left them facing a difficult road ahead. The damage has forced them out of their home, and they are now in urgent need of housing, clothing, food, dog kennels, and daily essentials. The sudden loss has been overwhelming, and they are struggling to process everything that has happened. My parents and siblings are having a very difficult time seeing the light at the end of the tunnel.
