Help my family in Sint Maarten

My mother and I never thought that our last conversation in her kitchen the night before I left St. Maarten to visit family in the U.S
would be the last time we would be standing in an intact home.

Then hurricane Irma happened. Our island was hit with winds in excess of 180 miles an hour and it changed the beautiful island we love forever.
Ten family members including my mother either lost their roof or had substantial damage to their homes. Roofs were blown off, windows and doors torn off leaving all the contents exposed to torrential rain and wind. My mother and aunt were in her home when the roof was blown off and had to brave the elements to get to a cousin's house across the street who would later also lose her roof.
When the storm was over ten family members were  left with no home and many of their possessions gone.

Two weeks later communication has returned and I try to keep in touch with my family daily to keep them encouraged and calm. As if this devastation was not enough we lost our brother,husband,father and uncle the day after the storm hit. My family is beyond themselves in grief mourning the loss of my mother's youngest brother.

I am doing everything I can from the U.S. to get much needed food and clothes to them.

I have started a Wal-Mart registry for items as well.

Whatever can be done to help my family and community we would be eternally grateful.
