I am Salma Rabah, and today I will tell you the story of my family, the story of my father, that heroic struggler who worked for many years to secure a better future for us. He never cared about himself; he dedicated all his effort to the comfort and happiness of his children.

Yes, he worked hard for forty years to achieve his dream of a better life for his family, and after long hardship, this dream was realized with the purchase of a beautiful, warm home for us. He managed to buy this house just eight months before the war. But, with a broken heart, I tell you that everything is gone, dear father. There is nothing left but some rubble. Is this too much for you? Did they decide you don’t deserve this?

I still remember our beautiful moments in all their details and ask myself: will these happy days return, or have they become memories of the past? If I achieve my goal, I will rebuild a happy life. Those moments, those laughs, and our happy days will return. The smile will come back to my parents’ faces, and we will live a better life, a life full of happiness.
