Help My Dad While He Recovers From Cancer

ABOUT MY DAD:

To me, my dad, Arunas (Aaron to some) is a loving father (and husband), who always took care of me, my mom, my brothers, and my sister. He sacrificed so much and worked tirelessly on many jobs so he could provide for us... but the jobs he had to work took a very serious toll on his health and wellbeing over the years.

And yet through it all, he remained strong, both in character and in faith.

HOW IT BEGAN:

Back in December 2020, dad told us that he noticed his neck was getting really painful swelling. At first, I was hoping it was just inflammation that would go away with some medication. A few days had passed, and the pain and swelling just got worse.

As a nurse, it was easy to jump to conclusions as to what was causing this (especially knowing his stressful life), but I tried my best to keep positive. I also suggested for him to see a doctor to get it checked out so we knew exactly what was wrong.

In April that same year, after multiple blood tests, scans, biopsies and other investigations over a period of a few months, we finally found out what was wrong - my dad was diagnosed with Hodgkin's Lymphoma.

AND NOW...

Thankfully, after 6 months of chemotherapy, my dad is now recovering at home, and would need to stay home for at least 6 months. Due to this, he is not able to work, and was temporarily let go from his current job.

As the sole earner from a family with 3 kids, this has caused a significant financial hit to them, and they really need help and support.
