<div>Initial Cancer Diagnosis – April 2024:

<div>He was first diagnosed with <strong>advanced stage laryngeal cancer</strong> (SCC) and underwent complete <b>radiotherapy</b> with a few cycles of <b>chemotherapy</b>.

<div><strong>Severe Heart Complications from Chemotherapy: </strong>








</div>








<div>Unfortunately, chemotherapy caused serious heart complications. He suffered <strong>SVT</strong> (Supraventricular Tachycardia) and had to undergo an <strong>RFA</strong> heart procedure. Later, he had a <strong>heart attack</strong> and required <strong>angioplasty</strong> and <strong>stent placement</strong>.

<div><strong>Tumour Recurrence After Discontinued Treatment: </strong>

<div>While recovering from the heart procedures, a PET scan and biopsy showed that the tumour had started growing again.

<div><strong>Immunotherapy Treatment – A Mixed Response:</strong>








</div>








<div>We began immunotherapy in October 2024. It worked effectively on the primary tumour, but a secondary tumour started to grow nearby.

<div><strong>Aspiration &amp; Feeding Difficulties</strong>

<div>He suffered from aspiration pneumonia, and began feeding through an NG tube, then a <b>PEG tube</b>. He has lost over 25 kg and hasn’t eaten or drunk orally in 7 months.

<div><strong>Bleeding &amp; Breathing Issues:</strong>

<div>He experienced heavy bleeding, persistent coughing, and worsening breathing problems due to the tumour.

<div><strong>Airway Blockage – Emergency Surgery Required: </strong>








</div>








<div>A recent PET scan showed the tumour has started to block his airway. Doctors have advised <b>urgent total laryngectomy </b>(removal of his voice box) , <b>Hemi thyroidectomy </b>and <b>permanent</b> <b>tracheostomy</b> to enable breathing.
