Help My Dad Recover After Multiple Surgeries

Donation protected
To his three children, and everyone who knows him, my father has always been a pillar of strength, hard work and wisdom in our lives. For as long as I could remember he has been a renaissance man, there was nothing he couldn’t do— Paint a ceiling so convincing you’d think you were looking right up into the sky instead of a piece of plaster, figure out a calculus related engineering problem, be the poster child for measure three times cut once, teach me how to make a lifelong French Toast recipe... and without the self defense training he’s given me my whole life.. whose to say where I’d be right now without that.. and that’s something I’ll be indebted to him for the rest of my life. There’s nothing Barry Sullivan can’t do.. but 2020 has been a particularly rough year for my dad. In the beginning of the year, he had hand surgery.. let’s say the surgeon shouldn’t be too proud of his handy work. Next; he had shoulder surgery to repair a torn rotator cuff, which was a curveball. After that it came to light he was in need of dental surgery (a poke in the eye would have been better) and then, near the middle of the pandemic, in the same fashion as the left hip he had replaced years ago, his right hip started to fail, and he had to have yet another surgery. Hip Hip Hurray! He still has one more surgery left to go to fix what was done badly on his hand, which he needs to be able to move freely for his passion — shredding killer solos in his local band The Potato Thieves, as well as his lifelong love of painting and printmaking. He’s recovering incredibly well from his recent hip surgery, which we’re all delighted about, but he’s been forced to stop going to physical therapy because he can no longer afford copay, and is in dire financial need across the board, as so many are this year. Anything that you could contribute to help my father not only be able to continue rehabilitation but also just help him stay a float would be amazing and unbelievably appreciated. My dad has always had the knowledge and the work ethic to help everyone he knows, so I hope that we can all come together to help him continue to heal and thrive in 2021. Thank you so much, be safe and healthy and well, Meaghan Sullivan.
