Help my dad in Gaza receive cancer medication
Donation protected
Salam,
My name is Abdelhadi Odeh and I am from Hay Al Zaytoon in Gaza. My family is currently displaced in Rafah along with my father (pictured above), Bassam Fawzi Odeh. My father is in immediate need of cancer medication and I am asking for help to cover the cost of the medication.
My father has been battling cancer for 6 years. He is the breadwinner of my family, I have 9 other siblings. In 2019, my dad had surgery to remove the thyroid gland and the operation was completed perfectly. However, two years ago, an outbreak was discovered in his cervical lymph nodes and also his lungs. Doctors attempted to get my father abroad to Egypt or Turkey for treatment given the lack of resources in Gaza needed to treat my father. The Palestinian Authority (PA) takes care of the treatment, however, during the past two years there has been repeated and unjustified refusal for his medical referrals. Most recently, I have been trying to get my father authorization to travel for treatment since October of last year. However, all roads are now closed in front of us and the best outcome left for my dad is receiving his cancer medication.
The doctors prescribed Lenvima treatment for 5 months. Each carton of Lenvima contains 30 pills and the patient must take two pills a day, therefore my dad will need 10 packs of Lenvima which will approximately cost $6,000 - $ 7,000. Given my dad's condition he is unable to work in the current conditions in Gaza, and the complete destruction caused by the zionist genocide makes it almost impossible for my family to obtain the needed funds for his medication.
We created this fundraiser for people who are able to help us obtain the cancer medication for my father Bassam.
Thank you.
