Support Elizabeth Hauser’s Healing

They say not to take things in life for granted, your job, your car, your money. All of those can change in an instant, but perhaps one of the things we take for granted most, is life itself. We forget that tomorrow isn’t a promise, and that today could be the end. This week’s event have very much proven the above statement.
On January 28th my cousin Elizabeth (22) suffered an ischemic stroke while on her lunch break. After her return time had passed a few employees went to look for her, she was found in the break room with no speech and stroke symptoms. As many as 30 minutes passed before anyone called 911. Eli was then taken to the hospital and underwent emergency surgery to remove the blood clot within her brain that caused the stroke. With the surgery successful she was transferred to the intensive care unit. However the next morning the blood clot had reformed, she was treated aggressively with blood thinning medications to prevent another stroke. Eli currently has no speech function, and has limited movement of her right side. The doctors say it could take up to or over two years for Eli to learn how to communicate with speech again. She could have to relearn everything. Eli can respond to yes, no questions with a head shake, as well as her facial expressions. She is frustrated, however she is still in there.
My family is asking for funds to help finish the basement of my aunt and uncle’s new home for when Eli is able to make the travel from Georgia to Utah. Eli is going to need extensive rehab, and therapy to over come the effects of the stroke. Anything as little as $5 will help, all proceeds will go directly to my aunt, uncle and cousin in hopes of finishing the basement, as well as covering eli’s extensive medical bills.

Every day we are making progress, it’s just one small step at a time.
