Hi, my name is Jamie Couch, and I’m raising funds to help my brother, James Braman, get a critical colonoscopy that could save his life.

Our family has a tragic history with colon cancer — we lost our dear Aunt Nina to it, and our father has survived it twice. Now doctors suspect my brother may be facing the same battle. He’s been experiencing serious symptoms, and a colonoscopy has been urgently recommended.

The problem?

My brother is unemployed and uninsured. We've applied for both Medicaid and the Marketplace, but he’s been denied for both — not because he doesn’t need care, but because he doesn't have a formal diagnosis yet. It’s a cruel loop: he can’t get insurance without a diagnosis, and he can’t get a diagnosis without insurance.

The out-of-pocket cost of a colonoscopy — along with the necessary prep, follow-ups, and possible biopsies — can run into the thousands of dollars. It's more than we can manage alone.
