Help Murrii Quu Couture get to Milan Fashion Week

UPDATE / end of campaign

Thank you to everyone for donating and helping to get Murrii Quu to Milan. On behalf of Cheryl, I write to express our gratitude for your support.

Murrii Quu dazzled the Milan walkway last week and is now being featured in European magazines including Marie Claire, Elle Spain, Harpers Bazaar and Madame Figaro France.

Cheryl is already booked for more shows this year and you can also find out more about her designs and how to get a Murrii Quu heirloom at https://murrii-quu-couture.square.site/

We are really pleased to show our appreciation and I have emailed the winners of the advertised prizes to send their postal details to me so we send the prizes. We appreciate that the winners send their postal addresses by Friday 12 March.

Thank you again for your support and thank you to Cheryl for bringing these creations to life - you are an incredible couture fashion designer and environmentalist, and an inspiration to us all.

Help get our first Aboriginal fashion designer to the Milan Fashion Week 2021!

UPDATE SATURDAY 30 JANUARY 2021

The collection arrived in Milan on Wednesday and we have only two weeks left to raise the final $6,000 for registration.

The money received so far via this gofundme campaign has contributed to the costs of raw materials to create the collection and design expenses along with paying for the postage to get the collection to Milan.

Cheryl was so pleased to receive generous donations including $5,000 from a local Indigenous business and $5,000 from First Australians Capital. Hence we still have $6,000 to go which is crucial to complete the registration costs and see the collection on the walkway.

We appreciate everyone's help so far and ask if you can share this link on your socials and talk to your friends to get Murrii Quu to the finish line.

Thank you dearly from Cheryl and Nat

UPDATE MONDAY 11 JANUARY 2021

The "Cassandra Ruth Collection" has been named in honor of Cheryl's mother and grandmother.

Great news - the exciting collection of ten dresses and beautiful accessories was collected today at 2 pm.

The first leg of the journey to Milan has begun!

The money already donated has helped to get Cheryl to this point and we are now in the countdown to Milan. The Milan team have shown great patience as we still seek donations for the final deposit. They have extended the deadline and we are almost there.

Thank you for your support and contributions thus far. Please continue to share this post to get Cheryl to the finish line.

UPDATE SATURDAY 12 DECEMBER

Thank you to everyone who has donated thus far - big and small it all adds up and helps get Murrii Quu on the Milan Fashion Week runway.

Cheryl had her first production meeting with Russ Ev (Creative Director, Emerging Talens Milan) and Tariel Bisharyan (Manager, Milan Emerging Talents Milan) this week which was a great opportunity to discuss the event and future promotional options. Russ and Tariel are now following her on Insta!

Additionally, with the help of a one-off donation, Cheryl has paid the $5000 deposit on the registration fees so the race is on to get the additional money to pay the outstanding fees, raw materials to complete the designs, and arrange for transportation of the designs to Milan. Depending on COVID-19 conditions, there is still a chance Cheryl could travel to Milan, so we need to raise funds for that as well.

Please share this post far and wide and sing from the rooftops to get Murrii Quu to Milan.

from one of Cheryl's biggest fans - Nat Clark

To date, Murrii Quu Couture gowns have graced the walkways of 2019 Mercedes Benz Fashion Festival,  the 10th CIAF Indigenous Art Fair 2019 and the Global Indigenous Runway 2020.

The synergy of Cheryl's career as a professional artist and her lifetime learnings of design comes from her Mother and Grandmother whom she learnt from as a young child.

Cheryl has created a semi sustainable label, taking existing garments, deconstructing and refashioning them into high-end evening gowns, with a red-carpet appeal. Drawing inspiration from the golden era of “Old Hollywood”, luxurious & vintage black fabrics/materials for the foundation of each design.  Every gown is exclusive and elusive in style and appearance. Murrii Quu Couture gowns are modest, timeless, and classic, with a modern edge, drawing on the individual beauty of each wearer.

CHALLENGE

Cheryl has been invited to show her creations in the fashion capital of the world, the iconic Milan Fashion Week, part of the global 'Four Fashion Weeks' including New York, Paris and London.

It is an incredible reflection of Cheryl's talent to be invited to show her designs.

In order to show, Cheryl needs to raise $20, 000 to share her latest collection, designed with sleek sophistication and humility to encourage a love of self through connection to country.

All donations, big or small, are appreciated and you also have the opportunity to win one of the following Murrii Quu Couture memorabilia:

The highest donation will receive a Murrii Quu creation - an exquisite* dress that will make you, or as a gift to a loved one, feel and look elegance personified.

Twenty randomly selected donors will receive a pair of Cheryl's signature black gloves that so encapsulate the golden era of old Hollywood.

Autographed photos from the event will be sent to every tenth donor after the event in March 2021.

(*Murrii Quu dress is available in sizes 8, 10, 12)

You can see more of Cheryl's designs on her updated website
