Hi, 

My name is Leah. 

My brother Taylor &amp; I are in a horrible difficult situation. 
 
Our beautiful Mum Sarah was admitted into hospital on Monday 16th February. 

She was in theatre having life threatening surgery for a perforated bowel within hours of being admitted. She was in theatre for about 4 hours. 
 
Mum was bleeding in her abdomen which was caused from the rupture. 

She's also had sepsis. 

She was being sick on &amp; off for days before &amp; had pain in her stomach. 
 
Mum's had a colostomy bag fitted as she's had her left bowel removed. It was very very inflamed &amp; she's fighting a lot of infections. She has a catheter bag too. 

We are still not sure whether the colostomy bag will be temporary or permanent, we just know the surgeon was happy with how the surgery turned out &amp; happy with the colostomy bag. 
 
Taylor &amp; I didn't realise how bad this was until we visited our Mum in hospital for the first time. 

Our amazing Mama is completely covered in wires on a ventilation machine sedated. 

The doctors took her sedation off to try wake her up, but her blood pressure was so dangerously high she needed to be sedated again within minutes. 
 
Through Monday night to Tuesday morning, Mum's blood pressure was significantly low &amp; she needed a heart scan &amp; chest x-ray. 
 
Mum is managing to pass urine through to her catheter, however we have also been told that she has kidney failure &amp; the numbers aren't what they are supposed to be. 
 
Mum is taking in so many different medications such as insulin, fentanyl etc to keep her going &amp; to allow her body to heal. 

The nurse told us that she has never seen such infection that Mum has. 

They said to us that she is very very unwell. She could be in this position for days, weeks, even months... We just don't know. Every day is different. 

They are going to try to wake her every day, but we don't know what the outcome is going to be. 
 
Taylor &amp; I have been informed that this is a seriously long road for Mum. 

We have been told that she may or may not wake up ever again which has completely shattered our hearts. 

The only thing we can do is pray harder than ever for her to wake up &amp; get better with our support &amp; love. 
 
Taylor &amp; I lost our father 6 years ago at the age of 53 which is no age at all. 

Our Mum is 60 this year. She has been our absolute rock since he passed away. 
 
Mum has her little sidekick Coco (her dachshund) at home feeling completely lost without her Mummy. My brother is doing everything he can to keep everything going whilst Mum is in hospital but it isn't easy. He lives with my Mum &amp; Coco in rented accommodation. 
 
My brother &amp; especially our Mum really need all of the support that they can get during this hard time. 
 
My husband &amp; I live in Surrey, we came down straight away when Mum was admitted into hospital but we can't stay here forever. 
 
We get updates from the ICU every single day. 
 
Hopefully when she does come round, she will need to be admitted onto a normal ward before being discharged to go home. 
 
We are fundraising to help my Mum have any medical requirements she may need &amp; to help my brother be able to get to the hospital when needed as he doesn't drive. 
 
We are posting regular updates about Mum's condition to keep everyone in the loop. 
 
My 11 year old daughter misses her Nanny so much.
