Hello, my name is Leila Steinberg, and I’m raising funds on behalf of Sennett Devermont, who many of you know as Mr. Checkpoint. He is a tireless advocate for justice, civil rights, and community empowerment. Sennett has spent over a decade fighting for the people. From sharing checkpoint alerts and know-your-rights resources, to creating free workshops for youth and supporting victims of police misconduct, his mission has always been clear: protect and uplift marginalized communities.

Now, he’s ready to take that mission even further, by becoming a lawyer.

But law school is expensive.

Sennett needs our help to cover the cost of tuition, books, enrollment, and fees, totaling $113,700. This education will give him the legal tools to fight for justice from inside the courtroom, not just on sidewalks and social media.

Why I Believe in Sennett?

I’ve known Sennett since he was a teenager. Over the years, I’ve watched him grow into a rare kind of leader, one who listens deeply, shows up for others, and leads with heart and purpose. He embodies what it means to be a servant leader, and his work through the Always for the People (AFTP) Foundation has already impacted countless lives.

He’s honest, emotionally intelligent, and fully committed to justice and education. His free public workshops, daily advocacy, and unshakable belief in truth speak for themselves.
