Help Mr. Pappy enjoy his senior years pain free

Hi, my name is Becky. I’m a cat person. In August of 2020, I had to say goodby to the last of my three cats. He was an orange tabby and his name was Froggy. He lived to the ripe old age of 18! I told him and my other two Angel kitties that when I was ready, they would have to find the cat for me and literally put him in my lap. Well, that day came!

Let me introduce you to Mr. Pappy. He is 17 and the sweetest orange tabby you’ve ever met. This poor guy has seen some things. Unsure of how the first shelter he was in squired him, he was moved to Austin Pets Alive!, where I adopted him. They informed me he had come to them with open wounds, so they had to shave part of his right side, and part of his chest. Those have healed up well, but he may always be a little patchy. it turns out that he also has an ear infection, gingivitis, tarter build up, cavities…and I think he’s missing a few teeth. He’s anemic, and oh yes, let’s throw in a hyper thyroid. He’s on prescription kidney care food and so far, three different medications.

I have only had him a week, but I love him already. He’s food motivated, loves to sit on my lap, and sleep in bed with me! He is already so loved, and I want to keep him

as comfy as possible and do everything I can to get, and keep him healthy for as long as I’m supposed to have him. There are more issues than I anticipated with this grumpy little love bug, and I’m not ashamed to say that We need a little help. He will need regular vet visits, meds, and once we get him to a weight and health wise a little better, we will address the dental issues. He’s more than worth it. He would appreciate any help you might be able to give and so would this senior cat momma.
